28th & 29th September 2009, Mental Health & the Issues Facing Society : Rehabilitation, Social Involvement and Professionnal Integration - Luxembourg (Mersch). Mental health is an issue that concerns everybody. It effects people on many levels, from psycho-social matters to economics. It is therefore featuring more and more in discussions concerning education, justice and employment.
The Symposium will focus on existing studies and initiatives that go some way to preventing social exclusion, as well the rehabilitation, reintegration and social participation of individuals suffering from mental illness. The Luxembourg International Symposium on Social Psychiatry will bring researchers, practicians, political experts and experts from various disciplines (medicine, psychology, social workers…). A committed and diverse audience will promote the setting up and reinforcing of national and international connections, training and the exchange of good practices. 30th March 2009: Closing date for Abstract Submission

The first Luxembourg Symposium on Mental Health will explore the various ways by which a wide range of individuals and organisations can promote mental health, and more specifically the reintegration and participation in society of people with mental illnesses.
